The difference is in the details!

DESIGN:  Ace Awning designs every patio cover we build to meet the particular requirements of your home and yard.   Even a smaller slab mount cover must be installed at the right height, and in the right spot to get the maximum use from it.   Proportion of overhangs and cantilevers determine the overall look of your cover and yard.   There are many options that affect the overall design and price of a patio cover.   Ace Awning provides many options from standard to our full custom steel covers to get the shade that you need, where you need it, at the price range you decide.  What we will not do is sacrifice quality of design, engineering, materials, aesthetics, installation, or anything else for that matter. Our genuine Alumawood patio covers have a life expectancy of over 50 years and we design and install them with this in mind.

Engineering:  Even smaller standard covers are required to meet strict engineering requirements of the County and Cities.   Any manufacturer also requires that the cover be permitted and installed to these guidelines for a valid warranty.   What this means is that if your patio cover is not installed correctly YOU HAVE NO WARRANTY!    It can be as minor as missing screws or larger issues such as over span beams, improperly gauged rafters, improper rafter spacing, no footings or improper size, and  improper connections.

Over span rafters, improper connection to the house, and horrible hacked contour are a few of the easily seen deficiencies of a cheap install. If the easiest aspects of an install are visibly wrong, the most important aspects surely are also. These include gauges of the material, post and beam connections, and gauges of steel inserts and posts. Needless to say, the overall aesthetic of the design, including scale, proportion, cantilevers and overhangs receive no attention what so ever.

A non-insulated solid panel system on a 95 degree day. Roll form panels range from .020 to .040 thickness for varying spans, but they don’t have  chance against Nevada’s Summer sun.

Here is an under cover temp on a 118 degree day. Even though it is 20 degrees warmer outside, the insulated panel remains 30 degrees cooler than ambient. On days like these roll form panels can reach in excess of 165 degrees underneath.

MATERIALS:   Amerimax Building products created the Genuine Alumawood material and engineering. Only Genuine Alumawood comes with Teflon enhanced finish by Dupont. There are other manufacturers that use deficient grades of aluminum and paint systems at the cost of durability and strength. All aluminum and steel parts come in various gauges to meet engineering and design requirements. Whether the correct gauges and parts are used by a company, will affect pricing and longevity of a cover.

INSTALLATION: For a cover that will last for many years, we feel an extra day or two for an installation is warranted.  This is why every aspect of our covers is perfect....TIME.  More design time, more engineering time, and more installation time. The fit and finish of our covers is second to none.   Ace Awning invented and perfected our custom contoured designs years before many of the current patio “builders” were around.  The reason for cheap prices is a cheap product with deficient design, inexperienced engineering and ignorant installation. Whether you require a standard rectangle to a slab, or a full contoured, steel reinforced combination cover, Ace Awning will design and install it with the attention to detail that sets the standard throughout the country.

Steel ledgers are required over large clear spans on the existing home, including large windows and built in patios.

Every rafter we install is stuccoed and painted into the home for a clean finished look.

(LEFT)  Someone thought they got a great deal.....real cheap, until the cover blew into the neighbors yard! They built it real fast though.

It takes time and skill to create a great contour. Here is a perfect example of a cheap homeowner thinking that it will be “just like Ace.”   We tear down and replace many covers like these every year.

Improper gauges and installation lead to this.
